Opportunity may come once in a life time or maybe twice; but it is not guaranteed to come thrice. That is why it is so important to take advantage of time and opportunity at hand or we can miss out on the greatest moment of our life. There is a scripture which read in Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all”. I believe at some point in life, every man and woman will be and has been given the opportunity in life to do something great. This scriptures speaks so well as it pertains to a rich man did not get his chance due to his understanding, races are not always won by the fastest person, nor bread or money to whoever is wise. The key to this whole thing was that everyone was given a time and chance to take advantage of any opportunity that was given to them. They all had something in common, they took the risk. I heard Thomas Edison said and I am paraphrasing. “A man who sees an opportunity at hand, his desire is so strong that he is willing to stake his last at a single turn of the wheel”. Your chance may come in a life time and it is up to you to seize the moment and go for it, because if not you may not get the same chance again. Then you would have many regrets in life on why you did not seize the moment. It is a blessing if it comes around again. You may hear a poor man says to the rich man, you are lucky or fortunate, and that is not the case. That rich man somewhere in life took a chance on an opportunity at hand. Well, this may not be the case with everyone who is wealthy, some people where left with an inheritance. I am talking about the man or the woman that had to work hard and smart to get the wealth. Keep this in mind, opportunity knocked at their doors one way or another, and they open the door. It may take us to knock on doors and not give up until you see a door open. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened for you”. You must have the tenacity to drive for the opportunity and not give up. One must be motivated to do or not to do, but I prefer you to be motivated to do. We all are always motivated it is a matter of what motivates you. A salesman may be at the brink of the biggest sale of his lifetime, but his desire to take his lunch break at the time when one his most important customer comes in and he pass them along to another salesman. It maybe the biggest opportunity missed. How many times we had put off taking care of important business? that would open many doors to our life but we decide to take a break or procrastinate. When you add up the time loss it equal to the value of the dream you once had was the opportunity of a lifetime. Our biggest loss is not in the money that we had spent on unnecessary thing, but it is the time loss that could never be retrieve. Remember time and chance happen to us all whether rich or poor, smart or illiterate, fast or slow, but knowing the right time to take the chance.

FAcing GIANT
How many of us have giants that we are facing today? If only we knew how to fight will be an awesome thing to do. You are defeated by your giant already when you don’t make a plan of action on how to defeat him. Giants can sometime relate to failing in your health, lack of finances, and life of defeat in most areas. You must do something about the situation by sitting down and making a decision to take action. If you can remember in the story of David and Goliath on how David stood before his giant Goliath boldly without hesitation. He had confidence to fight this 9ft. giant and also he had a plan to take this monster out. Although David was hardly one-fourth the size Goliath was but that did not scare him. Most people are afraid to challenge a situation that seems to be too big to handle but you would never know a way out if you don’t have a plan. Unlike David, he put together five smooth stones and took a chance knowing that one of those stones was going to knock Goliath out forever. Sometimes in life you must take what you have in your hand and do something positive with it; meaning what you have just make the best of it. When writing this topic, I was reminded of a documentary that my family and I were watching on a famous cable channel about small animals being a prey for larger animal. This one episode showed how a large snake was trying to prey upon a mother squirrel and her babies in a cuddly hole under some rock. The snake found the mother and the babies backed up in a corner trying to run as far as they could from the snake. Surely the snake wanted dinner from one of them. Apparently, the mother squirrel made up in her mind because they had nowhere else to go, she would face her giant face to face even if it means her getting hurt. In order to protect her babies she took courage and stood on her hind and waited for the snake to come into the hole and surely he did and tried attacking her and the babies. She stood fighting and slinging dirt and everything in the eyes of the snake in order to make him run away from her little cave. Eventually the snake got tired and gave up; he backed out of the hole of the cave and never returned. The mother squirrel and her babies were able to escape without any harm done. All because the mother squirrel took courage with no other choice, and were able to win the fight. Even for us as human when we find ourselves caught in situation that seems too deep. Come face to face without being afraid and after all you find that your giant weren’t as big as you thought it to be. Then it makes you feel better about yourself having confidence that you can overcome some rough situation. It takes some perseverance and patience mix with courage then you find yourself to be a winner.
